Aloysius Arlando, CEO, SingEx Holdings Pte Ltd (Singapore)
Aloysius Arlando is the Chief Executive Officer of SingEx Holdings, which is wholly-owned by the Singapore investment company, Temasek Holdings. SingEx Holdings comprises several entities focusing on the MICE business. They include SingEx Venues Pte. Ltd., which manages the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre, the largest purpose-built MICE venue in Singapore and SingEx Exhibitions Pte. Ltd., the event management team which develops and manages exhibitions, conferences and other business events.
Prior to SingEx, Aloysius spent 18 years in various leadership positions in Singapore’s public sector. While he was at the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Ministry of Trade & Industry, he advanced Singapore's tourism, business travel and MICE industries. He was a key member of a multi-agency committee responsible for Singapore’s Integrated Resorts project, where he oversaw the MICE development aspects. He also served in the Ministry of Manpower where he spearheaded lifelong learning and workforce development efforts.
Aloysius has an Honours degree in Economics from the National University of Singapore; and did his advanced management programme at the Chicago-Booth School of Business. He also underwent leadership, management and marketing programmes at INSEAD, University of Hawaii, and the Centre for Creative Leadership in the United States.
Mark Brewster, CEO, Explori (United Kingdom)
Mark is CEO and founder of visitor satisfaction research specialists, Explori. In this role he works closely with exhibition organisers who know that visitor and exhibitor experience is key to their success.
With clients including ITE, Informa, Clarion Events, Reed Exhibitions and Messe Frankfurt, Mark and his team help organisers around the world understand and refine their visitor experience.
Panitha Buri, Managing Director, BITEC (Thailand)
Since graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from King’s College in London and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, Chulalongkorn University, Panittha Buri has gained extensive experience in various aspects of the MICE industry. Having worked with Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre for over 12 years, she first put her excellent organisation and management skills to work in the Operations Department before moving to Sales & Marketing and finally taking on the role as Managing Director in January 2014.
During her time as Managing Director, BITEC has grown from strength to strength. The venue is currently undergoing expansion with several new world-class event halls and facilities to be launched by the end of 2016. The total exhibition space will increase to approximately 70,000 square meters, placing BITEC among the largest exhibition and convention centers in the region. Under Panittha’s leadership, the team at BITEC is well prepared for the continued growth of the company towards more global recognition.
Despite a busy schedule, Panittha enjoys taking time to develop her physical and mental strength by boxing, playing tennis and swimming in her spare time. She also enjoys travelling, exploring new places and learning about different people and cultures.
Adam Charles, Senior Vice President, Managing Director Asia Pacific, FreemanXP (China)
Adam has 25 years of global experience across a number of areas in marketing and the live event industry. Leading diverse projects such as fashion shows, live broadcast events for TV, theatre, music, ceremonies for international sporting events and corporate brand experiences. With a reputation as a world-class event and experience producer, in 2003 Adam was appointed by Jack Morton Worldwide as the Producer of the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. Since 2007 he has been based in China, one the biggest and most dynamic markets in the world.
He prides himself on having established and maintained long serving relationships with clients, staff and partners.
Mark Cochrane, Regional Manager, UFI Asia-Pacific Office (Hong Kong)
Mark Cochrane is the UFI Regional Manager, Asia Pacific. He is also the Managing Director of Business Strategies Group (BSG), a business intelligence and strategy consulting firm focused on the B2B media industry in Asia - with a particular emphasis on exhibitions and events in Asia. Through its consulting practice and its relationship with UFI, BSG works with major exhibition organisers, venues and governments across Asia.
Mark has been based in Hong Kong for 18 years and joined BSG in 2006. Prior to BSG, Mark worked in a variety of roles primarily focused on B2B media and market research including three years at Global Sources in marketing roles and three years at The Gartner Group as a senior research analyst.
Mark earned an MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management, in 1997. Mark is on the board of the Business Information Industry Association and presents regularly on the exhibition industry at various conferences and events in Asia.
Michael Duck, Executive Vice President of UBM Asia Ltd., UBM Group Chief Representative for China (Hong Kong)
Owned by UBM plc listed on the London Stock Exchange, UBM Asia is the largest trade show organiser in the region and the largest commercial organiser in China, India, Malaysia and Thailand. Established for over 20 years with its headquarters in Hong Kong, UBM Asia has a strong global presence in 24 major cities across Asia and in the US.
Michael joined UBM Asia in 1994, and is responsible for UBM Asia’s fashion, beauty and maritime verticals and also trade fair activities in India and many in China. He is also a Director of Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co Ltd, a member of the UBM Asia group of companies.
He was appointed as the first UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) Chapter Chairman for Asia/Pacific in 2000 and in five years grew the Chapter to be the most active and fastest growing in UFI. He then chaired the first UFI Sustainable Development Committee and has spoken at many fora. Michael is today Treasurer and Vice President of UFI.
Michael has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) for twenty years and was Chairman from 1998-2000.
A committed Rotarian for the past twenty years serving the Rotary Club of Hong Kong as VP, Michael has been involved in CSR for a long time.
He has previously lived and worked in the UK, New Zealand, Italy, Australia, Belgium, Greece and Hong Kong. Prior to joining UBM Asia in 1994, he was trading director for the UK Global Business Group “Vestey Group of companies” latterly based in Hong Kong.
Kai Hattendorf, Managing Director, UFI (France)
Kai Hattendorf became the Managing Director of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, in October 2015. As such, he is responsible for all UFI activities and events, as well as the operation of its three offices in Paris, Hong Kong and Sharjah.
Prior to his current role, Kai worked in the exhibition industry for a number of years in senior management positions at Messe Frankfurt’s global headquarters, focusing on transformational issues ranging from digitisation to marketing and communications.
His previous career also includes leadership positions in marketing/strategic communications as well as in strategy and product development in the ITC and Media Industry for the Deutsche Telekom Group, the dpa Group (the German Press Agency), and a start-up.
A journalist by education, Kai has internationally reported and worked for the WDR and Radio Bremen broadcasters in Germany, at Euronews in France, the BBC in the UK, and the Voice of America. He holds a Master’s degree from the American University, Washington, DC. He also studied in Dortmund and Edinburgh.
Kevin Hoong, Business Travel Lead, APAC, Airbnb (Singapore)
Kevin joined Airbnb in 2013 as Market Lead for Malaysia. In the past three years, he has been responsible for business development, partnership and brand marketing in the growing Southeast Asia region. Notably, Kevin led Night at F1 Sepang, a regional marketing campaign, which allows motorsport enthusiasts spend the night on the racetrack. He currently leads Business Travel in the Asia Pacific region. Previously, Kevin founded his own start-up in the social dining space and graduated with an Economics degree from University College London.
Richard Ireland, Managing Director, Asia, Clarion Events (Singapore)
A Master’s graduate from the University of Sydney, Richard has been involved in business media for the past 20 years. He has launched numerous exhibitions, conferences, training events, publishing products and online communities over a broad range of industries throughout Asia Pacific.
Richard is currently the Managing Director of Clarion Events Asia and his role is to expand Clarion’s footprint in the region. He was previously the CEO of Terrapinn Asia Pacific.
Richard has regularly trained both exhibition and conference management to industry and have served as the Vice President of the Singapore Association of Convention Organisers and Suppliers. Richard has consulted to a number of business media companies in Asia Pacific focusing on strategy and performance improvement.
Richard has pitched, won and managed joint venture partnerships with some of the region’s and world’s largest trade associations and governments and have been involved with various M&A transactions.
Michael Kruppe, General Manager, SNIEC (China)
Since 2014, Michael has been General Manager at the Shanghai New international Expo Centre (SNIEC), a venue offering 300,000 sqm. SNIEC is China's, most successful exhibition centre attracting almost five million visitors annually as well as, 122,000 exhibitors and maintaining an average occupancy rate of 70% in 2014.
From 2002 to 2013, Michael was General Manager at a variety of European companies in China, responsible for setting up sales and marketing strategies in China and Asia – primarily for MNC’s targeting local and international players in the region. This included setting up two new large factories and supporting operations in Shanghai.
From 1986 to 2002, Michael was Manager at Helm Group located in Germany, China and Hong Kong. During that time, Michael was responsible for worldwide sales, marketing and procurement of ingredients and raw material for the chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals and steel industries.
Arun Madhok, CEO, Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre (Singapore)
Mr. Arun Madhok is the chief executive officer of Suntec Singapore and Suntec International.
Mr. Madhok joined Suntec Singapore in 2009 as the director of Business Development and was promoted to the position of chief operating officer at the beginning of 2012. Mr. Madhok had spearheaded the review of the venue’s operational activities and implemented changes, enabling the venue to maintain its reputation as a world class venue. He has also been instrumental in developing and leading the modernisation programme that was completed in 2013.
Prior to his appointment at Suntec Singapore, Mr. Madhok had garnered extensive experience in the airline and computer industries. His expertise includes strong change management and strategic planning in the area of business development, customer service, operations and information technology. His strong business acumen led to significant growth in several major new markets across Eastern Europe, Mediterranean and North Africa during his tenure with British Airways.
Mr. Madhok is a graduate of the Spicer Memorial College and the Osmania University in India.
Helen Mantellato, Business Development Manager, International and Exhibitions at International Convention Centre Sydney, (Australia)
An accomplished and highly experienced executive in the events industry, Helen has exceptional knowledge and understanding of the international and domestic exhibition and convention industry. A business driven and sales focused professional with an impressive track record of attracting, retaining and managing major events in the competitive Australian and Sydney market, having worked for the previous Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre for over 25 years.
Helen impresses with her in depth knowledge of the ICC Sydney, a walking encyclopaedia of information and facts on spaces, modes, capacities and creative and resourceful ideas.
Helen is a committee member of the Exhibitions and Events Association of Australasia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Wee-Min Ong, Executive Director, Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd. (Singapore)
Mr Ong Wee Min serves as the Executive Director of Sales at Marina Bay Sands.
His portfolio encompasses Marina Bay Sands’ sales and marketing processes and activities for the various market segments in Association Meetings, Tradeshows and Events both locally and internationally.
In this role, he is responsible for bringing in various first-to-Asia trade shows and exhibitions to Marina Bay Sands. These include iconic events such as Maison & Objet Asia, Lions Club International Convention, Tax Free World Association Asia Pacific and Milipol Asia.
Prior to joining Marina Bay Sands in 2012, Wee Min last served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Suntec Singapore where he oversaw all commercial activities and strategic development for both Suntec Singapore as well as Suntec International, the international venue consultancy arm of Suntec.
Wee Min holds a Bachelor in Economics from the National University of Singapore with a second major in Political Science. He is Singapore’s first graduate of the Public Venue Management School in Australia and holds a CMP certification from the Convention Industry Council as well as a CEM certification from the International Association of Exhibition and Events.
Janet Tan-Collis, President, SACEOS (Singapore)
Chief Executive of East West Planners and President of SACEOS with over 35 years in the Meetings, Incentives, Congress, Events Industry. Actively involved in the industry in Asia, having expanded East West Planners with offices in China and Malaysia, growing from a destination management company to a full service experiential solutions provider with specialization in meetings, incentives, conferences and events, in addition to leisure travel catering to a very niche market.
Other areas of her work encompasses, business tourism development & consultation, working closely with major industry players, National Tourism Boards locally and overseas.

Throughout her career, Janet has won several accolades for the company as well as for herself. She was bestowed the PCMA 2016 Global Meetings Executive of the Year Recipient together with other prestigious DOM Benedictine Working Mother of the Year Award, 1990 and the travel personality of the Year for Asia Pacific at the EIBTM Show, Geneva, Switzerland, 1995.
Siew Hoon Yeoh, Founder, WIT (Singapore)
Yeoh Siew Hoon is the founder of WIT, launching it in Singapore in 2005 and going on to launch WIT editions across Asia Pacific. In 2016, WIT Europe made its debut in London, days after the Brexit vote. WIT has won several awards including Most Innovative Marketing Initiative and Trade Conference of the Year from the Singapore Tourism Board. In 2014, Siew Hoon was recognised Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year. A journalist by profession and passion, she is also a speaker and facilitator at events around the world. She is also a published author of titles such as “Around Asia In One Hour: Tales of Condoms, Chillies & Curries” and children’s books such as “Adventures of Habibie The Turtle” and “The Story of Baitong and Boon”.
David Zhong, President & CEO, VNU Exhibitions China (China)
Mr. Zhong has worked as an exhibition organizer since 1991. He founded VNU Exhibitions Shanghai as the General Manager in 1993. In 2011, VNU partnered with Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs and established VNU Exhibitions Shanghai and Mr. Zhong was appointed as Managing Director. Since 2007, he has been the President of VNU Exhibitions Asia.
Mr. Zhong has organized and run a number of world-famous exhibitions, such as DOMOTEX Asia / CHINAFLOOR, R+T Asia, Pet Fair Asia, Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai and Shanghai Wealth Management EXPO.
VNU Exhibitions Shanghai annually runs 18 exhibitions with coverage over 400,000 sqm.
